Promise Ball

A sell-out crowd of Southeast Michigan’s social, civic and corporate leaders gather for our optional black tie Gala each Spring to dine, dance and participate in live auctions and Fund-A-Cure.  Click here to go to the Promise Ball web page.

Walk To Cure Diabetes

Each year, more than 10,000 participants “walk for a cure” at our Chapter walk sites in Michigan and Ohio. It’s fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. Entertainment, family activities and refreshments are part of the festivities.  Click here to visit the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes web page.

Ride to Cure Diabetes

Raise valuable funds for diabetes research and experience the thrill of completing an endurance cycle event for JDRF. Destination rides offer the participant a wide range of travel options, in addition to ride lengths for cyclists at any experience level.  Visit the Ride to Cure Diabetes web page by clicking here.

Diabetes Today and Tomorrow Conference and Exhibits - with JDRF Kids Camp

Hear the world’s leading researchers, local clinicians and diabetes experts share their knowledge about research advances and treatment practices to live healthier, longer lives. Designed for patients and family members affected by type 1 diabetes, concurrent sessions offer a wide range of subject matter - across all age ranges.

The concurrent JDRF Kids Camp is a diabetes self-management program for kids with type 1 aged 5-12. The event is held late May to early June each year. Attendance is free of charge. Check back in early spring for 2013 registration information.

Run, Walk, Cycle or Tri

Have the experience of a lifetime while making a difference in the lives of children and adults with diabetes by participating in a TeamJDRF Challenge event or the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes.

Thousands of JDRF supporters across Michigan walk, run or cycle for recreation and fitness. Why not turn that activity into a personal improvement goal and a fundraising opportunity for JDRF?

Regardless of age or physical condition, anyone can prepare for an endurance event with a 16 to 20 week training program. Most endurance events are walk-friendly, so you don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to participate (remember – it’s not a competition; it’s an accomplishment).

Pick an event of your choice (5K, Full or ½ Marathon, Triathlon, or Cycle event), sign up with the event organizer and then create your personal fundraising page on Team JDRF. It’s that easy. Go here to learn more.

Third-Party Events

A number of individuals, corporations and service clubs create fundraising events with proceeds begin donated to JDRF. Please check back here often to see some of the largest local events which may be of interest to you.
